Salinity of the seas

 Another Sign of Allah, the Exalted, which points to His Greatness is the salinity that we find in the seas. Scientists say that in a single liter of seawater  there are twenty-sevenams of salt, and that the entire world uses in one year more than fifty million tons of sea salt. The persentage of salt in seawater is equivalent to 3,5 percen of the total amount of seawater, and in cubic kilometer of seawater there are 34 million tons of salt. If the salt of the sea were extrated and dried, and spread over the five continents, not leaving any spot uncovered with the salt that was extrated from the sea, the dried salt would cover the land to a depth of 153 meters.
