Signs of Allah, the Extalted, in the Seas and Oceans

Allah, the Almighty, says:

And he it is Who has subjected the sea (to you), that eat thereof fresh tender meat (e.i. fish), and that you bring forth out of itornaments to wear, And you see the ships plowing troug it, that you may seek (thus) of He (by transporting the goos from place) and that you may be grateful." (Sr, Al- Nahl, 16:14)

The vastness of the Oceans

The seas and ocseans ocupy a large part of the Earth's surface, almost three- quaters, Water differs from land in the ease whit  which if flows from one place to another, bringing with it warmth or cool. It strongly reflects the sun's rays; hense, the temperature of the sea does not rise much during the day or fall much during the night; the defference of temperature between night and day is no more than two degrees.

According to some scientist, the sea is as eternal as time itself, and remains unchanged event over a perod of thousans of years. On the other hand, the landscape keeps changing: Moutains become valleys and valeys become mountains. Scientific research indicater that the deepest depths of the sea are equivalent to the highest elevations of mountain. Captain Jacques Cousteau, the deep-sae explorer, wrote in early September 1965 that it ws possible to take photos at a depth of 25,080 feet, and he discovered new forms of life that were previously unknown to science. The pictures that he took at the bottom of the sea show that the bottom of the sea is not flat as was previously thought.
